Firstly, WELCOME to one of the most important aspects of your journey, deciding to advance your photography skills with mentorship! The Alaura Photography Mentorship program is quite unlike any other, as not only have I taught photography in schools, but I’m also self-taught! This means I know how it is to start from scratch and having to learn from the ground up, teaching yourself and A LOT of trial & error. But, I’ve also had experience in the more technical side of photography (even teaching developing & processing film & photos in a dark room!). After being a professional photographer for nearly 20 years, and full-time since 2013, I’ve found one of the most challenging aspects for photographers is trying to balance being creative, while also thinking quick and being technical at the same time. Your creativity and vision knows what you want, but you struggle in trying to manage your camera to achieve the outcome you’d like. And then find yourself spending hours in editing to try to get there in a different way.

If you already see yourself in the creative side of photography and have a camera of some description, the hardest part is done! Now it’s just time to get your skills in order. And that’s where I step in, to help you take all the guess-work out! I’ll be teaching you all my tips, tricks and secrets in achieving those dreamy, emotive portraits, becoming a master of light and shadow, beautiful ways for you and your subject to connect, and unlocking all that hidden talent you’ll finally get to express.

An Alaura Photography Mentorship program offers both group and one-on-one training in the following fields -

  • How to use a DSLR camera in general, and how to use it to achieve the looks you’re after

  • Creative & inspirational photography outdoors

  • Creative & inspirational photography in-studio

  • Creative & inspirational photography indoors

  • Creative photography in challenging situations (low light, bright light, indoors, fast movement, etc)

  • Post production editing (lightroom & photoshop)

  • A new & refreshing look in approaching photography with your unique style

An Alaura Photography Mentorship begins at $149/30 minutes for one-on-one training, and $129/30 minutes for groups of two or more. Bring a friend and learn together! Alaura Mentorship also offers four & six week comprehensive courses in all of the above, to set you on the path of confidence in your photography journey. Alaura Photography Mentorships service local areas to our studio in Tarzana in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles and the greater SoCal area. We also occasionally offer services in Australia and Europe when visiting!
